The silicon nitride igniter is a heating resistor material encapsulated in a ceramic material. The resistor converts electrical energy into thermal energy and high temperature, and is used as an ignition device for gas equipment.
The silicon nitride igniter has high hardness to prevent impact damage, high temperature resistance of 1350℃, and excellent durability and reliability. This durability and reliability is due to the high-performance silicon nitride material, which has a fracture toughness more than twice that of silicon carbide material, and also has high thermal shock resistance and wear resistance, so that it can maintain high reliability even in high temperature environments.
Fracture toughness is an indicator of the ability to prevent crack propagation and damage in materials that may crack on the surface and inside of ceramics.
The silicon nitride heater can quickly heat up to over 1000 degrees Celsius (1,832°F) in about 2 seconds, thus achieving rapid ignition. In addition, even if the ignition is repeated repeatedly, the igniter can still maintain its initial performance and has reliable durability and reliability.
